Roadside Stop Activities

In our experience, planning a short 15 – 45 minute stop every hour or two on a road trip short circuits irritabilty in young children, who feel a great need to move every so often.  Adults feel better after a stretch too.  In the end, we save both time and sanity.  Things to do at ye olde rest stop:

Bug-watching

Geological and historical sites of interest

Wildlife watching

Collect flowers for pressing

Simon Says

Follow the Leader

Tag

Tree/rock/hill climbing
