Enjoy these tasty foods on your next picnic or trip.
Granola
- 2 cups rolled oats
- ½ cup sunflower seeds
- ½ cup wheat germ
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ tbsp oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped dried fruit
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Spread out on 2 cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes.
To make into granola bars, pour granola into a mixing bowl and drizzle with ½ cup of honey. Mix well and pour into a greased 9 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool slightly and cut into bars.
White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies
- 1/2 cup margerine
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp brandy extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 cup dried cranberries
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together margerine and sugar. Beat in the egg and brandy extract. In a small bowl, combine flour with baking soda. Stir into sugar mixture. Mix in chocolate chips and cranberries.
Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake 8 – 10 minutes.
